Parable of the Ten Virgins
Jesus told a parable to His disciples about ten virgins.
They were waiting for the bridegroom.
Five were wise and five were foolish. The bridegroom arrived and invited the five wise virgins in to the wedding feast. He refused to let the five foolish virgins in and said He didn’t know them.
Matthew 25:1-13 Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.
The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil.
When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight they were roused by the shout, ‘Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!
All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, ‘Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out.
But the others replied, ‘We don’t have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves.’
But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked.
Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, ‘Lord! Lord! Open the door for us!’
But he called back, ‘Believe me, I don’t know you!’
So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.
The ten virgins represent people that believe they are Christians.
The five wise virgins are the “true believers” in Jesus Christ. They have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior. They follow Jesus and try earnestly to obey Him. These five virgins represent the true Remnant Church that is the Bride of Christ!
The five foolish virgins have followed false teachings that don’t agree with the true teachings of the gospel. They belong to the Apostate Church and Jesus Christ will not receive them as His bride!
Here is a warning to all that read this!
Who are you? What do you actually believe and practice? Are you a believer in Jesus Christ and ALL of His teachings?
OR…….do you merely go to church and then believe some parts of the scripture that appeal to you? Don’t listen to false teachers that say pleasing things to you! The true preachers MUST preach the complete word of God and you MUST make yourself ready for the return of the Lord!
