Jesus Prayed this Prayer for the Church

Jesus Christ is our High Priest.

He is in heaven and intercedes for us to the Father.

Jesus prayed many times to the Father when He was on earth.

This is the prayer Jesus prayed for everyone that would ever believe in Him!

Be blessed!

John 17

After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.

“I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You gave them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them the message you gave me. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and they believe you sent me.

“My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because they belong to you. All who are mine belong to you, and you have given them to me, so they bring me glory. Now I am departing from the world; they are staying in this world, but I am coming to you. Holy Father, you have given me your name; now protect them by the power of your name so that they will be united just as we are. During my time here, I protected them by the power of the name you gave me. I guarded them so that not one was lost, except the one headed for destruction, as the Scriptures foretold.

“Now I am coming to you. I told them many things while I was with them in this world so they would be filled with my joy. I have given them your word. And the world hates them because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world. I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.

“I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.

“I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am. Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!

“O righteous Father, the world doesn’t know you, but I do; and these disciples know you sent me. I have revealed you to them, and I will continue to do so. Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”

The Jewish Feasts – Fulfilled by Jesus Christ

Our Lord God ordained seven Holy Convocations (feasts) in the Book of Leviticus.  They were given to His people (the Hebrews).

Leviticus 23:4  –  These are the set times of the LORD, the sacred occasions, which you shall celebrate each at its appointed time.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Passover –    Celebrates the freeing of the Hebrew slaves from Egypt; and the first-born of the Hebrews being protected from death by the blood of the “Passover Lamb”

Hebrews placing blood of Passover Lamb over their doorposts (so the Angel of Death would “pass over”).

________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Feast of Unleavened Bread – A time of repentance and putting away of sin

Feast of First Fruits – Celebrates the first fruits of the harvest

Feast of Weeks   (Pentecost in Greek) –  Celebrating the giving of the Law (Moses at Sinai)

Feast of Trumpets – A time to repent and prepare themselves to stand before God

Feast of Atonement – The time of God’s judgment

Feast of Tabernacles A time to live outside in booths (or tabernacles) and remember their complete dependence on God

Read the whole 23rd chapter of Leviticus to gain a fuller understanding!

See below each feast and the fulfillment  (literally the same day and hour!):

Passover  –  The Death of Jesus Christ  (the Lamb of God whose blood keeps us from spiritual death)

Feast of Unleavened Bread  –  The Burial of Jesus Christ

I Corinthians 5:6-7  –   6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Feast of First Fruits  –  The Resurrection of Jesus Christ (first fruit of the sons of God)

Pentecost  –  The Gift of the Holy Spirit and the Birth of the Church

_________________________________________________________________________

These four feasts occur in the Spring.  Jesus Christ has already fulfilled each one of them.  The next three feasts don’t occur until the autumn months.  They will be fulfilled by Jesus Christ in the near future.  This time we now live in (while waiting for the next feasts to be fulfilled) is the Time of the Church OR the Time of Grace.

Feast of Trumpets  –  Prophesies the Rapture of the Church

I Thessalonians 4:16-17 –  16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Feast of Atonement – Prophesies the Second Coming of Jesus Christ

Feast of Tabernacles – Prophesies the Millennium Reign of Jesus Christ

_________________________________________________________________________

Paul explains in the book of Colossians that the feasts are a “shadow” of things to come.  The early Christians had already witnessed the first four feasts being fulfilled by Jesus Christ.  Paul understood very well the meaning of the feasts.  He knew that the autumn feasts were foretelling future events about our Lord Jesus Christ!

Colossians 2:16-17  –  16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ.

This is my prayer…………

Lord Jesus…….help your people to see and understand the prophetic nature of the Jewish feasts.  Open their eyes quickly to see and their hears to hear what the spirit of prophecy is saying!

Amen

Spiritual Warfare

Evil is very present in the world these days!

People are wicked in their hearts.  Murder, rape, cruelty, abuse, lying, pornography, drugs……and the list goes on.  We tend to think our battle is with these people.

But…..it really isn’t!   It is a spiritual battle!

GOOD    VS.   EVIL

THE  POWER  OF  GOOD     VS.   THE POWER OF DARKNESS

GOD    VS.    SATAN

Many people think that they are “neutral”.  They don’t want any part of a spiritual struggle.  The truth is……you can’t be neutral…..especially if you are a Christian.  Remember the song “Onward Christian Soldiers”?  It is a truth that we cannot escape.  There is a war raging between God and Satan.  God’s people must learn how to fight!

Let me tell you about your weapons!

THE   WHOLE  ARMOR  OF  GOD

Ephesians 6:10-20

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Image

14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.

Psalm 23

This is one of David’s Psalms.

David was a shepherd and clearly understood

the sacrifice and love of the

Good Shepherd toward us!

Image

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.

He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
    for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
    I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
    your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
    in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

The Promises of God

We can trust the promises of God with our whole heart, mind and soul.  Our Lord God is completely trustworthy!

Numbers 23:19

God is not a human who lies or a mortal who changes his mind. When he says something, he will do it; when he makes a promise, he will fulfill it.
All people who have put their faith in Jesus Christ CAN trust in every promise that our Heavenly Father has made…….from Genesis 1 to the last sentence in Revelation!  We can join the choir of believers that have sang this song through the years!

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,

Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call

Resting in my Savior as my all in all,

Standing on the promises of God.

Bible

Isaiah 40:29-31  He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.

Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 103:13   As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Proverbs 1:33  All who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled by fear of harm.
Proverbs 8:17  I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.

Proverbs 3:5-6    Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Malachi 3:10   God said… “bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Matthew 11:28-29  Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

John 14:27  I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Romans 10:9  If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39  No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Philippians 4:19  If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it.

Ephesians 3:12   Because of Christ and our faith in Him, we can now come fearlessly into God’s presence, assured of His glad welcome.

I John 5:14   This is the assurance we have in approaching God; that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

2 Peter 1:4  But because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

These are but a few of the promises in the scriptures……….

Shouting a Warning !!!

If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior…….you are no longer under the Law of Moses (rules & regulations)!     The Holy Spirit lives in your spirit.  He tells you what is wrong and what is right!

When a Christian does something wrong (sins) the Holy Spirit will tell that person.  All you have to do then is simply admit what you’ve done, turn away from it and confess your sin to your Heavenly Father!  He will forgive you instantly (because of your faith in Jesus)!  He no longer even remembers your sin.  You are at peace with God!

Romans 8:

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

However……you must not continue to willfully sin!

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. Those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

12 So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. 14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

The Feast of Tabernacles

The Feast of Tabernacles is a time of joy and celebration!
The Feast of Tabernacles (or Feast of Booths) is connected to the final harvest of the year, One of its primary themes is thanksgiving and rejoicing in God’s goodness.
Feast of Booths1feast of Booths
The children of Israel (the Jewish people) live in “sukkahs” during this feast to remind them of the fact that they lived in tents in the wilderness for 40 years. During their sojourn in the wilderness Israel had NOTHING; they were totally and completely dependent on God and He was enough! It is the same for us. No matter what, God will be enough for
us too. He will provide and meet all our needs.
The Feast of Tabernacles was ordered by God in Leviticus 23:39
33 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 34 “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month and for seven days is the Feast of Booths to the Lord. 35 On the first day shall be a holy convocation; you shall not do any ordinary work. 36 For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall hold a holy convocation and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a solemn assembly; you shall not do any ordinary work.
37 “These are the appointed feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim as times of holy convocation, for presenting to the Lord food offerings, burnt offerings and grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its proper day, 38 besides the Lord’s Sabbaths and besides your gifts and besides all your vow offerings and besides all your freewill offerings, which you give to the Lord.39 “On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.
40 And you shall take on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, branches of palm trees and boughs of leafy trees and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God seven days. 41 You shall celebrate it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year. It is a statute forever throughout your generations; you shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
42 You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All native Israelites shall dwell in booths, 43 that your generations may know that I made the people of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.”44 Thus Moses declared to the people of Israel the appointed feasts of the Lord.
The Feast of Tabernacles teaches us to walk in an attitude of humility and dependency/reliance on God (not your job, family or friends, the government, or any other created thing).
This time teaches us to rely on the unseen God, rather than that what is able to be seen. What we can see in the natural world is not secure (the world is passing away).
We are learning to rely on God’s supernatural provision, just as the children of Israel received water from the rock and manna six days a week.
All of God’s people will celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles!
Revelation 21:
And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Psalm 91

Psalm 91 is a psalm of refuge

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say of the Lord,    “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom trust.”

Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
For He will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
